Brother Mike Disharoon of Beta Psi Chapter passed away on August 31, 2026 at the age of 74. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10 am at H.D. As I sit here trying to think of what best describes Brother Mike I come up with several . One he was a great Husband , and a great Dad and Grandad. a good brother, he was a hero to many of his students , He taught his students to respect others and to do the very best. Coached basketball with a passion . His peers loved and respected him and learned from him. I first met Mike in High School around 1968 and thought he was a cool guy and showed interest in my high school Fraternity, Gamma Delta Psi, so we invited him to join, he pledged and was voted “best goat ” by the membership., The young fellow always had young beautiful ladies around him. Always a smile on his face , He soon realized that being in a Fraternity was not Animal House now don’t get me wrong we did share a few PBR’s together. He was Sgt. at arms , Vice President and President . He was a varsity basketball and was very effective player. Those are some of my thoughts about Mike or Schroon or Dish or BROTHER whatever you called him.
