Brothers,

Here is some detail on Brother Jim Frankish – Beta Sigma not sure of his induction number possibly #41. He had suffered from Parkinson’s disease but I’m not sure that’s what caused his death although it was from natural causes. He was very well respected in the area of British Columbia health services. At one time was a professor at University of British Columbia where he is still a Professor Emeritus.

As a member of Gamma Delta Psi Jimmy was always very well liked and hardworking. He was one brother that all looked up to and listened to. When Jimmy spoke there were no interruptions or detractors. He took his membership in the fraternity very seriously and held a variety of offices. When it came to social activities or charitable events to raise money for the underprivileged he was always a leader or a helpful participant. At school lunch tables he always kept us laughing with his wonderful sense of humour. He always had a story to share which we enjoyed every day.

Indeed, Jim had a wonderful sense of humour even until the end. He was so intelligent that when he at least told me a joke it always required an explanation. No dad jokes in his vocabulary. Jimmy was a good friend to everyone and to me he was my best friend. He will be sorely missed by his friends in Toronto who haven’t seen much of him lately and by his many good friends and associates in Vancouver where he has resided for most of the last 50 or so years. I had the good fortune of being able to travel back and forth and was able to visit when time permitted. We had been spending a lot of time on the telephone lately and I only now realize he was saying goodbye.
