Greetings Brothers.
It is with a heavy heart that I report the death of James Arthur Morgan, Jim was Beta Alpha Chapter Bro. # 52. He was the person responsible for me being a Gamma Delta Psi brother in that he nominated me as a pledge. Jim was one of the best friends I ever had growing up in Hopewell, Virginia. Neighbor, football teammate, fraternity brother and roommate when we were working and attending college, he was a constant part of my life before careers and families took us in different directions. Jim was a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army Airborne Division stationed in the Pacific. He settled in California with his wife and family following his military service. We lost contact with each other for several years but renewed our bonds a few years ago when he visited Hopewell following the death of his parents and brother. I had been trying to contact him for the past couple of years via emails, phone messages and postal mail with no success. He had left California and moved to Tennessee in recent years. I was shocked to discover through a search of public records that he passed away in Waverly, Tennessee on Dec. 22, 2020. I was recently able to verify this through a mutual friend and classmate who had been in contact with Jim’s son. Farewell Jimmy. I was Blessed to know you.
May God Grant You Eternal Rest and Peace in His Heavenly Kingdom.
